5 High-Paying Blog Niches
If you want to make money blogging, these topics are a good place to start.
It often feels like every topic on earth is already oversaturated, and when writers discover new high-demand niches, they don’t have any interest in sharing them with the competition.
However, fortunately, there are a few tried-and-true topics that are still highly profitable despite being arguably over-saturated. Although these aren’t the crème de la crème, they are incredibly solid niches for new bloggers to start with.
Financial Technology
Financial technology (also known as fintech), has been an incredibly hot topic in recent years. This includes any new financial services involving artificial intelligence, blockchain, cloud computing, or big data.
There are already tons of blog posts about every existing aspect of fintech, but what makes this niche so great is that there are new sub-niches every day. The topic can get highly technical, but if you’re willing to put in the work of learning it and staying up to date, you can earn good money.
The writers who do best in this niche are those who can describe complex, technical topics in simple language. You should strive to be an expert in your sub-niche but to write for laymen.
In addition to creating a fintech blog, search for clients who need content for their websites. Some fintech writers even branch out into writing white papers, which can offer extremely high earnings.
Real Estate
Real estate is another great niche that never seems to die. In recent years, the real estate market has exploded, which has caused the real estate blogging niche to explode too.
Now, the market seems poised for a crash, with home prices already dropping in many cities. However, fear not, because as a blogger, this just creates new topic opportunities. No matter which way the market moves, there’s always something to write about.
Like with fintech, this is an enormous niche with plenty of sub-niches to choose from. You can focus on financing, flipping, real-estate-based mutual funds, and more.
This is also a topic in which you should search for clients looking to buy content. Real estate agents always need new posts on their websites to improve their search engine rankings.
Crafts
If you’re interested in giving affiliate marketing a try, crafting is a great niche. With affiliate marketing, you write high-quality blog posts about how to do a craft, then link your readers to the crafting equipment they need (and earn a commission when your readers make a purchase).
The reason this niche works well is that people spend a lot of money on their crafting hobbies. The topic has obvious and easy monetization — all you need to do is set up an Amazon affiliate account and link readers to the supplies they need.
Blogs in this niche tend to follow a pretty simple formula. They’ll have a handful of information “how-to” posts and a ton of product reviews and top product lists.
The key to doing well in this niche is doing your best to provide truly helpful information. Your goal should be creating a blog that readers can trust, not just a dumping ground for spam. The easiest way to do this is to focus on a craft that you enjoy.
Fitness
A similar niche to crafting is fitness. Like with crafting, this is a topic that people read a lot about and spend a lot of money on. The monetization for fitness tends to follow the same pattern as the monetization for crafting — link your readers to products that they need for exercise.
You can also make decent money writing about fitness right here. Many of my top posts of all time have been about running. I’ve done particularly well with posts about how to train for different goals.
